Batch Verification checks many people at once from a CSV file. The Family Extraction workflow (Beta) finds the relatives named in matching obituaries. Family extraction is included in your plan.
Run a batch from the portal
- In the sidebar, select Batch Verification.
- Read the result types and the precision tip (callout 1). Name and state alone are cautious. Add middle name, city, and birth year when you have them, and a
require_matchcolumn for strict matching. - Check the CSV columns (callout 2). Required:
first_name,last_name. For family extraction, addstate, county, anddeath_date. - Paste a Live API key (callout 3). Batch jobs need a live key.
- Select Download template, Load verification sample, or Load Family Extraction sample if you want a starting point, then Choose CSV file (callout 4).
- For death-record files where you need survivors, check Family Extraction workflow (callout 5). Older death dates automatically use a wider historical search. No extra columns are needed.
- Start the batch and download the results as CSV when it's done.

Family members for one lookup
- Add
include_survivors: trueto a verify call, or - Call
POST /api/v1/verify/{verify_request_id}/familyafter a lookup.
| Family status | Meaning |
|---|---|
pending | Still working. Check again shortly |
ok | Family members are in survivors |
none_found / no_named_family | The obituary doesn't name relatives |
unavailable | We couldn't read the obituary |
Test keys always return none_found with sandbox: true.
Family members are the people the obituary names. That isn't a legal determination of heirs. Verify before you act.
